The NAAAHR Young Professionals Network

The National Association of African Americans in Human Resources understands the importance of developing and engaging its Young Professionals membership. As senior leaders within organizations prepare for retirement, it’s pivotal that we are preparing our members with the tools and skills needed to transition into these key decision-making roles that will further contribute to a diversified workforce. In addition to this, there are a number of social and economic issues that communities of color face in today’s world.


Human Resources professionals play a key role in educating and executing policies & procedures that break down these barriers and provide an equal playing field for Black and African American human resources practitioners.


NAAAHR seeks to provide opportunities where the “Young Professional” member can use the organization as a platform and directly impact their communities through advocacy, engagement, service and philanthropy. By engaging in this initiative, you will be able to identify areas of concern for young professionals of color and develop & execute regional/national programs within NAAAHR. These opportunities will enhance the careers of our members and position them to be key contributors of the strategic direction of their organizations. The Vice President of Young Professional Development and Engagement is responsible for driving these core areas within the young professional market of our membership.




Are you a young professional who is passionate about advocacy, membership development, and seeking an opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity within NAAAHR? We are in search of Regional Leaders to further support this ongoing initiative to recruit, retain, and engage young professionals within NAAAHR!


As a Regional Director, you will be responsible for:


  • Collaborating with NAAAHR National and local leadership to execute programs to acquire new members (i.e. organizing membership drives, happy hour events, and working with local members to identify potential members in the young professional demographic).


  • Participating in monthly/quarterly conference calls with NAAAHR leadership to develop creative initiatives that contribute to the development and engagement of our young professional membership.


  • Supporting local chapters within the region by tracking/measuring its growth in numbers of young professional actively engaged in local/regional/national programming.


  • Providing feedback to the VP of Young Professional Development & Engagement around areas of interest/new strategies to further reach & recruit new members into the organization.
